Description

You will need:

  • Holiday Snowglobe Designs Wafer Paper
  • Snowglobe Cookie Cutter
  • No Fail Sugar Cookie Recipe
  • 1 bag royal icing
  • Super Gold Luster Dust
  • An alcohol base, like lemon extract or clear vanilla extract
  • Squeeze Bottles
  • Edible Clear Writing Gel
  • White Edible Glitter
  • Wax or parchment paper
  • Small craft scissors
  • Small craft paintbrush

Instructions:

  1. Carefully cut out each wafer paper shape using craft scissors. Wafer paper is fragile! Set it aside.
  2. Use No Fail Sugar Cookie recipe and cut out several snowglobe cookie shapes. Bake and cool as directed.
  3. Prepare royal icing, following the directions on the bag. The consistency should be that of heavy cream. Fill squeeze bottles with icing.
  4. Ice each cookie with 1 layer of white royal icing. Let it completely dry.
  5. Create detail at the base of the snowglobe by icing lines and a border around the bottom of the snowglobe with the icing in the squeeze bottle (see photo). Let this layer completely dry.
  6. Adhere each wafer paper cut-out to a cookie shape by smoothing on a thin layer of edible clear writing gel with your finger to the top of the iced cookies.
  7. Flip each cookie face down on a piece of wax paper to dry for about 30 minutes (this will keep the wafer paper shape flat).
  8. Flip the cookies over after 30 minutes.
  9. To get the "gold shimmer" effect on the border as seen in the photo, mix luster dust and an alcohol base (lemon extract or white vanilla extract) to create a "paint." Use a small craft paintbrush to paint the luster dust onto the base of the snowglobe (see photo).
  10. Add White Edible Glitter to the globe part of the cookies by smoothing on another thin layer of edible clear gel on top of the wafer paper design. Sprinkle with the edible glitter to create a "snow" look.
  11. Let the cookies completely dry and store them in an airtight container.
