Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons cocoa (optional)
Prep & Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Prepare the pan by greasing and flouring it or using baking spray. In a large bowl, mix together the sugar and melted butter at low speed until well blended. Increase the speed to medium and beat until light and fluffy. Add the flour, milk, baking powder, vanilla, salt, and eggs. If desired, add cocoa. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan on a rack for 10 minutes. Then, gently turn it out onto the rack and let it cool completely.
