Description
This is the best gingerbread cookie recipe we have ever tasted! Makes approximately 6 dozen wonderfully crisp cookies.
Ingredients:
- 2 sticks unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup light molasses
- 2 eggs
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. ginger (ground)
- 2 tsp. cloves (ground)
Directions:
- Cream butter and sugar. Add salt, soda, and spices. Add eggs and molasses. Add flour. The dough will be very soft and must be well chilled before handling.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Roll dough out on a heavily floured surface. The dough must be rolled very thin (1/8") in order to keep the shape of the cookie cutter.
- Decorate and bake for 8-10 minutes.
