Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/3 cup dried cherries, coarsely chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped blanched almonds
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour pan; set aside.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cardamom; mix well.
In a small bowl, combine eggs, butter, orange juice, and milk.
Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and stir just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Stir in cherries and nuts.
Pour batter into the prepared pans.
Bake at 350 F for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes in the pan.
Remove from the pan and cool completely.
Makes 8 loaves.
