Description
Cookie stenciling is such a quick and easy way of adding a pretty design!
What you need:- Peacock Cookie Stencil
- 2.75" Round Cookie Cutter
- Luster Dusts (Gold, Green, Blue)
- Food Color (optional)
- Small spatula
- No Fail Sugar Cookie Recipe
- Royal Icing
- Paint Brushes
- Lemon Extract
Instructions:
1. Use No Fail Sugar Cookie Recipe and cut out several circular shapes. Bake and cool as directed.
2. While cookies are cooling, prepare the royal icing or frosting (fondant will also work). Divide into bowls and dye the desired color(s).
3. Center the stencil on top of one of the cooled cookies.
4. Using an off-set spatula or a regular spatula, spread a thin layer of royal icing over the top of the stencil.
5. Carefully lift the stencil off the cookie and allow the icing to completely dry.
6. To create a paint, mix 1/4 tsp of lemon extract with a luster dust of your choice. We created several blue and teal luster paints for this step.
7. Apply with a paint brush and let dry. You can create layers of color by letting the first layer dry in between coats.
8. Finish off with the gold luster paint accents and let dry before storing in an airtight container.
