Description

You will need:

  • Tea Pot Cookie Cutter
  • Tea Cup Cookie Cutter
  • No Fail Sugar Cookie Recipe
  • 1 bag royal icing
  • Green Sugar Pearls
  • Red Sugar Pearls
  • Parchment paper
  • Squeeze Bottles
  • Holiday Quad Cube Stamp
  • Un-inked stamp pad (or even a paper towel will work)
  • Gel food coloring in red and green (or any other color)

Instructions:

  1. Use No Fail Sugar Cookie recipe and cut out several tea cup and tea pot (or any other shape) cookie shapes. Bake and cool as directed.
  2. We recommend icing your cookie with royal icing to provide the smoothest canvas for your rubber stamped image.
  3. Prepare a batch of white royal icing and thin it with water until it has the consistency of cream. Place in a squeeze bottle fitted with a round tip.
  4. To ice the cookies, hold the bottle at a 45 degree angle, touch the tip to the cookie and gently squeeze the bottle to draw a thin line of icing around the perimeter of the cookie. This outline will act as a dam so that the interior filling icing will not run over the edge of the cookie. Once you have outlined the cookie, fill the interior with the icing.
  5. After you have completed filling the cookie with icing, allow each cookie to dry overnight before stamping.
  6. For Rubber Stamping – You will need to make an edible ink stamp pad. We used a sheet towel paper to create an ink pad. It accepts all types of dye ink and is perfect for liquid gel food coloring. Fold the paper towel to match the size of your stamp and apply a generous amount of liquid/gel food color.
  7. Before you start to stamp your cookies, make sure your royal icing is dry. Tap your stamp on the inked towel several times. Check the stamp to see that it is fully inked. Repeat if necessary. Carefully position the stamp above the area you wish to stamp and gently but firmly press down. Quickly take the stamp off the cookie. Take care not to press the stamp onto the cookie with too much pressure or your cookie will crack. Stamp each cookie as desired. Allow to dry.
  8. To add 3 dimensional detailing once your stamped image has dried, over pipe decorative designs on the cookie with colored royal icing.
  9. Once completely dry, you can stack and store your cookies.
