Description
You Will Need:
- Solid Yellow Muffin Cups
- Solid Fuchsia Muffin Cups
- Solid Lavender Muffin Cups
- Solid Orange Muffin Cups
- Solid Blue Muffin Cups
- Yellow, Pink, Blue, Orange & Lavender Sanding Sugar
- Picket Fence Cupcake Wrappers
- Pastry Bag or icing spatula
- 1 bag small marshmallows
- 1 bag mini chocolate chips
- Favorite Cupcake Recipe
- Favorite Icing Recipe (we love buttercream!)
- Kitchen Scissors
Instructions:
- Bake cupcakes according to instructions in solid colored muffin cups. Let cool.
- While cupcakes are cooling, prepare the frosting. Dye frosting if desired.
- Using scissors, carefully cut marshmallows into thirds (slicing them so that the end result looks like small circles).
- Prepare small dishes with sanding sugars. Dip marshmallows into sanding sugar so the sugar sticks to the insides of the marshmallow (where it is sticky).
- Frost each cupcake and then carefully place marshmallows in a pattern to look like a mum (see photo above), using extra icing when necessary to ensure marshmallows stick.
- Sprinkle Mini Chocolate Chips in the center of each cupcake.
- Assemble Cupcake Wrappers and place each cupcake in a wrapper.
- Arrange on a cake plate and serve. Store in an airtight container.
