This drink was the 19th Century version of Gatorade. Farmers and farmhands brought large, cool pottery crocks of Switchel into the fields during haying season. It was poured into tin cups to keep it at its absolute coldest!
Ingredients:
- 2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 5 teaspoons molasses (or honey, or sugar)
- 1/3 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 cup water
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a covered jar and shake vigorously until well combined. Pour over ice and enjoy.
