Description
Our green natural food coloring uses spirulina and turmeric to give foods an earthy hue without adding flavor or smell. This water-soluble liquid is best for cold or no-bake applications. Plant-based green natural food coloring will not give the same emerald tones as artificial colorants, but will add muted, earthy pastel tones to icing, fillings, frosting, buttercream. This liquid color is extremely effective in cold applications milk-based drinks such as shakes and smoothies, as well as ice cream and other frozen desserts. Because our water-soluble green natural food coloring is plant-based, the final color is very sensitive to both the pH of ingredients and the temperature during preparation. No-heat applications, including creating green colored decorating sugars, frostings, and icing, are best as the natural food dye can fade significantly during high-heat applications such as baking. This plant-based coloring will be stronger in more acidic environments.
Recommended Usage: Use 1/2 to 3/4 of a percent based on total volume to start. Color will be most vibrant when total pH is in the 4-5 range.
